Good morning, pup parents!

We hope you’re soaking up this beautiful fall weather with plenty of long walks and outdoor playtime with your pup. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year in Charleston—especially when it comes to weather—and there are some great events coming up that celebrate our love for animals and welcome your furry family members into the holiday fun.

Keep an eye out for our next newsletter on December 4th, where we’ll share a full roundup of festive Lowcountry happenings in December that include your pets.

Heads‑up: Friday, November 28th (Black Friday) offers free admission to all South Carolina State Parks! 🐾 It’s the perfect chance for a breeze‑filled adventure with your dog. Visit southcarolinaparks.com/park‑finder to find a park near you and check their pet policies.

And don’t miss the final article in this week’s newsletter featuring Shelter at Home, a local home décor shop with quirky, animal‑themed products—and a heart for rescue pets. Even better? 100% of their proceeds this month go to the Charleston Animal Society. It’s a great way to shop for good this season.

LOCAL EVENT

Paws & Pampering; Paw-liday Party

Paws & Pampering is happening this Saturday, November 22 from 11am-1pm in Nexton at 424 Brighton Park Blvd. This heartwarming community event combines a local vendor market, sips and treats, and — best of all — the chance to meet adoptable pups from Dorchester Paws. Whether you're looking to add a furry friend to your family or just want to support local rescue efforts, this event is the perfect way to do both.

Here’s what to expect:

  • 💗 All adoptions are fully sponsored by Youth Lab and HYLO

  • 🥤 A portion of Bomb Bar sales will go directly to support Dorchester Paws

  • 🧡 Every dog adopted will receive a free week of doggy daycare from Dogtopia of Summerville

  • Youth Lab will be open during the event with appointments available

This event is free to attend, family-friendly, and a wonderful way to shop small, support rescue animals, and get in the holiday spirit. Come for the cuddles, stay for the community — and maybe go home with a new best friend.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 6th for a festive event that’s fun for the whole family! Join the Charleston Animal Society: Berkeley Campus for their 2nd Annual Paw-liday Party. Come join the party to take photos with Santa, shop and dine with local vendors, and meet adorable animals available for adoption.

RESTAURANT

Crave Kitchen & Cocktails

If you’re looking for a laid-back Charleston café with delicious food that welcomes your pup with open arms, Three Little Birds Cafe should be at the top of your list.

Tucked into the Windermere neighborhood of West Ashley at 65 Windermere Blvd, this beloved breakfast-and-lunch spot has earned rave reviews from humans (4.5 stars on Google) and pups alike (a perfect five bones on Bring Fido!). With six dog-friendly outdoor tables, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a morning or mid-day bite alongside your dog. The shaded patio is especially popular — reviewers often mention how friendly the staff are to dogs, offering water bowls and a warm welcome.

The café is open 7:30am–2pm Monday–Friday and 8am–2pm on weekends, and they serve breakfast all day — a major win. Morning favorites include bagel breakfast sandwiches, huevos rancheros, fluffy pancakes, omelets, and scrambles. If you’re stopping by closer to lunch, the crab cake sandwich on challah bread, grilled fruit salad, and rosemary ham with smoked gouda sandwich are top picks.
